Well, I took Japanese for three years in college. We only learned about 101 kanji, so there's still more to learn. I only started translating regularly a couple of weeks ago when I made my blog.
Wow, really? Only 101? I'm expected to know just over 300 for the second year of my A-Level Japanese. I got an A in the first year (AS) but an E in the second year (A2) which came to a C overall so I'm retaking the A2. I'm hoping to go to university next year to study Japanese for 4 years as I failed to get in this year.
Yeah, we focused more on grammar, vocabulary, and speech. I wish we did go over more kanji, but I just have to learn them on my own now. Through translating, I've already learned several kanji I didn't know before.
