Since I haven't really read the manga,
would it be advisable not to watch this yet?
(should I read the manga first?)
It seems interesting plus it was created by Naoki Urasawa
(who also created Monster) - a series which I really liked. :D

Anyway, the artist who plays Kanna, sure is cute!

You can read the manga if you want, it's completed, but the movie follows the manga really closely. There are 3 movies in total(Two released*I think* in Japan), but only 1 has been subbed. Movie budget was 6 Billion Yen, which is quite alot, lol.


Story for the first movie(Wiki):

Kenji and his old friends are slowly being drawn into a mysterious conspiracy that could threaten the world. Who is the mysterious "Friend" and how does he tie into Kenji's youth? Why are there disappearances and deaths tied into Ochanomizu University? Their memories hold the keys to the puzzle, but time and age have clouded their minds.

The strange occurrences and the reach of the "Friend" conspiracy grow by the day. It will all culminate on New Year's Eve 2000. Will Kenji and the others be able to put together the puzzle and save the world?

I have to admit I liked the manga better. It might be because all of the mystery was spoiled...but it was still enjoyable.
