Area 51

So most people might not consider this paranormal, but the first thing most people think about when they hear "Area 51" is the location of the 'UFO that landed in Roswell':

Just recently I started to watch these YouTube videos about Area 51 and some of them really piqued my interest. Yes, YouTube videos have absolutely no credibility, but some of these are real and I enjoyed watching them:

Awesome video. This actually shows a car occupied by two elderly women crossing the gate and the military men chasing them. More entertaining then the first imo.
There are some videos by user dreamlandnightmare titled "Confessions of an Area 51 Employee basically describing some things he saw while at the base. These can obviously be fake, but my curiousity is so overwhelming I will accept it as truth. :wink:

Some people are making a big deal about the security and that 'they must be hiding something there!', but that is sort of rediculous. I'm not aware of any military base you can just walk up to and start exploring to your heart's content...
Almost everyone will recognize what Area 51 is as soon as they hear the name, but no one knows anything about it. It may be pretty boring to a lot of people, but I absolutely loved watching the videos of the people driving up to the gate (sort of subtle for a gate :roll: ). Is anyone else as intrigued as I am?

Intrigued ? Perhaps ... but not with the possibility of anything extraterrestrial being hidden there.
It's no big secret that the global arms race is still going strong and the US always liked to be in front. What I believe area 51 to be is simply an experimental science or weapon facility (or a facade to draw unwanted attention away from other places). This also easily explains some of those so called 'UFO sightings'. The fact that we use fairly known and publicly-introduced weaponry on battlefields doesn't mean that things far more advanced and uncommon exist.
If you presented the SR-71 Blackbird along with it's performance data to people in 1964 (the year it took it's first flight) I'm fairly sure a ton of them wouldn't believe it to be manmade.

Don't forget the F-117, B-2, and the fabled Aurora, which could be either of the first two, or an entirely new super sonic jet capable of supposedly Mach 7, and a turn radius of over one hundred miles.
I think it's just a place that gets too much attention for the wrong reasons.
If you like sci-fi, I suggest the Area-51 series by Robert Doherty; at last count, it was 8 or 9 books long, and explored most everything from the history of the Earth, to modern day humanity, and how it 'could' be intertwined with extraterrestrials. Good reads, I especially liked the books on history.
I believe there may be alien life, but not as fantastic as some people would make it out to be.
