PLOT SUMMARY: "On the surface, Saya is a stunning 16-year-old, but that youthful exterior hides the tormented soul of a 400-year-old "halfling." Born to a human father and a vampire mother, she has for centuries been a loner obsessed with using her samurai skills to rid the world of vampires, all the while knowing that she herself can survive only on blood like those she hunts. When she is sent onto an American military base in Tokyo by the clandestine organization she works for, Saya immediately senses that this may be her opportunity to finally destroy Onigen, the evil patriarch of all vampires. Using her superhman strength and her sword, she begins to rid the base of its evil infestation in a series of spectacular and elaborate showdowns. However, it is not until she forms her first human friendship in centuries with the young daughter of the base's general that Saya learns of her greatest power over Onigen may well be her ability for human connection..."
I hope the action sequences are not short like the anime series. There was barely any movement from Saya in the anime series. The animated movie and manga version had her doing much more.

It sounds like it's based off the animated movie...At least that's what I got from reading the description.
if yo notice this is based off the animated movie BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE no the anime series I hope its subbed because im going to watch this but the chick who plays saya looks the chick who played momo in kill bill
The movie was already released all over the globe now, except for the USA, because they want English dubs =___=. Well it should be sometime this week, I'll be looking forward to it.
Blood the movie was really good I just hope that they can pull it off. I don't really watch too many movies that were anime and then re-made using real actors, but this one might be ok to watch.
@Jonoe: Dumbass americans >.> even though I'm one lol, but dubbing a japanese movie like this one will just ruin it completely.
I've seen some commercials for this on TV. It surprised the hell out of me when I first saw it advertised on Spike (I think that was the channel). One, because I didn't think it'd come out in theaters, and two, because it's been a long ass time since I first heard about this movie.

Saw it, maybe 5 minutes in and you can already tell it's diverging from the source material. By the time they flashback to Saya's past, I was bored with the movie.
Part I liked the most:
Spoiler:
When that one Council guy turns on Saya. Glad he got his hand chopped off.
