Computer problem with sp2

i need some help. ok i try to upgrade my sisters computer to sp2. I then restarted the comp. When i got into the windows it says explorer.exe couldn't run or w/e. i even try going into windows task manager and starting it up manually by putting explorer but it says it couldn't start up. I then went into safe mode and tryed to see if it had the same problem and it did :(. I then tryed to restore it to the last windows that worked but that didn't really help. So any suggestions that might help me?
