Daily brain fart

So does everyone else around here seem to have a daily brain fart moment?

For the past week I've been trying to figure out why images, and some text, seems distorted on my browser. I kept thinking there was something wrong with my tv, since I'm using my HDTV right now because my monitor finally crapped out on me.

I don't know how many settings I've tinkered with and changed, but nothing seemed to work. Then I went to my View menu and clicked zoom out randomly and everything was fixed.

... I had forgotten that when I first hooked up this tv I zoomed to 125% to view some small, fine-print text, on a website and forgot to reset it to 100%. >.<

All these days trying to figure out what happened and all I had to do was zoom out. XD

Here's one now : i've to to add words, spoil a fun reply to meet basic intelligence of the forum ;)

I have a hard time speaking, a lot of times I'll try to say a word and I'll forget how to say it <_< Or I won't be able to think of a specific word that I want to use. Yesterday it was 'manic'

Sometimes I say a word believing it means something else, like this morning when I was eating breakfast whit my parents and asked for milk, but what I rely wanted was butter. And I got irritated when nobody was giving me the dame butter, but then I realized that it was me that had asked for the wrong thing.

I sometimes unconsciously mix words in a sentence.

For example:
"The shoe doesn't fit in foot's fairy" when it's suposed to be
"The shoe doesn't fit in fairy's foot"

I also do what leo-rubberduck described. But very rarely.

I often think about a word I'm about to write and then decide it sounds so stupid it must not be in the english language.

I often can't come up with the word I'm looking for in my own language so in desperation I replace it with the English word since I always seems to come up with it instead, followed by massive raging by the people I'm talking to since they're sick of me doing that.

I had one this morning!
I ran around the house looking for my PSP. I even got mad Enough to start yelling..."yeah my PSP is that important to me, it has irreplaceable goods on it."

After a good two hours of looking around the house i decided to give up. I stuck my hand in my Pocket and noticed it was there....

YUP...its just one of those days!

Sometimes, I think I said a word but I just mumbled it...

I had something similar to that last week.

I was expecting my girlfriend's text that morning to pick her up for a ride home after her call center night shift. My cellphone's a common household family-use item, and last night apparently someone borrowed it while I was sleeping since it was missing from my bedside table when I went to get it after I got fully dressed for work.

I was growing impatient every minute that passed, worrying if my girlfriend texted me already. I woke up my parents and my siblings one by one to check and ask if they borrowed it, and I either got "No" or "Dunno", which made me more worried.

Then I started to give up and decided to just go to her workplace early, at least I won't be late. Then while I was driving, I felt something vibrate in my pocket, and I instantly knew - my cellphone was in there all along. I remembered I pocketed it earlier before dressing in my suit and tie, I just forgot it instantly after doing it.

That has happened to be lots of times but with the tv remote. And except that it wasn't in my pocket, IT WAS IN MY HAND!!

i had a blackout today in the company...i mistook the direction out of the toilet with the one at my house...and i made aquaintance with the wall...that hurted...and best of all-my boss saw it.

As a linguistics student I think it is my duty to inform you of the "bathtub" effect as it is called in professional circles. You can imagine it like this: You remember the beginning and the end of the word (head and feet showing up) however the part in the middle is often unclear (below water). It is a relatively common effect caused when you can't make a clear connection in the network of your mental lexikon due to any kind of other influences be it emotional / mental or physical.

Anyways... mine happens quite often when I am opening a word document in the uni and I am wondering "what in the hell did you want with that?!"

After leaving my home, I actually forget whether I locked the door or not about 10 seconds after I locked the door. Fuck paying attention to routines.

Every now and then I keep forgetting if I did a chore so I do it again >.>

I keep forgetting where i am at random point of the day, then what day it is. Get totally disoriented until i somehow make it to class (usually cant remember walking there, or how i got there.

One of those days that I forgot where a quote came from. Luckily after using process elimination and logic, and I realized where the quote came from.

I usually start to think about one word for too long and totally forget it's meaning. Like saying "door" for five minutes and then wondering what that damn word means?
