I'm a huge Diru fan. (fan, not fan girl. BIG difference)
~I've been a Diru fan for 8 1/2 years now (it's a little hard to believe but it's true. I was exposed to Jrock at a young age by a girl from Japan I used to follow around in a mall where she worked)
~I will never stop being a Diru fan. I've been to 4 concerts that they've been in, including Taste Of Chaos, Family Values Tour, and their InwardScream tour in the US. I even promised myself that if/when they break up, I will get a tattoo dedicated to them. It will cover my whole back.
~I love all the members but my favorite would have to be Kyo. There's just something about him and his amazing voice that makes me all hot and bothered XD I don't like how he sounds in live concerts anymore, sadly.
~My first Diru song I ever heard was Garden off their album, MISSA.
~My favorite Diru songs are Obscure, Child Prey, Asunaki Koufuku Koenaki Asu, Beautiful Dirt, [KR] Cube, FILTH...the List goes on and on.
~My favorite albums are Six Ugly and Vulgar.
~I prefer their older albums rather than their new ones, but I listen to all of them
~I own 7 out of 8 of their released albums (I'm missing MISSA, their first one that was released in 1997/1998)

I'm must to say that i'm fan of them since more than 2 years, after the CLEVER SLEAZOID release. before that time i saw videos but i'm not convinced, sounds too visual kei. But one day i saw the Obscure MV i i said OMG this is perfection, musically and in the MV. an this 2 years were enough to listen to the entire discography.
The albums that more liked me, well, i don't know if is Kisou or later or Six Ugly or Later. although i stay with the 3 last albums. i think that they are improving their music in time. the Member i like the Talent of Shinya (and my envy for his drums) and the charisma of Toshiya.
Without a doubt they are the best rock band of Japan that i knew until now.
I hope see them live i don't think that would be hard they come to Latin America btw, i can buy their last LP with price of non-imported cd (thanks Warcon Records).

o0o0o yes, I loved their new Clever Sleazoid. I didn't this it was possible to make that song any darker but they succeeded and I love it [color=red]<3[/color]
In my opinion, I don't think that they are improving their music (for I am not a fan of their new 'way-to-much-screaming-and-less-singing' sound) but I respect your opinion none the less and slightly agree with you. I am glad that they are evolving, but I can't help but miss their old sound.

I don't think that they are coming to the US this year. The last time I saw them was on February 23 & 24 here in California. ;^; I want them to come back....

I'm not a big fan of Dir En Grey by any means, but i know that they have some pretty good songs.My friend loves them, and is always playing their music in the car, so that's where i hear them. Also, i was shown a video of one of their concerts where Kyo pulled out a hook or something and started cutting himself. Seriously wtf, totally unnecessary.

they're in Japan now, i don't know if now are in a tour or will begina new tour in Japan and also will release a new single.
and i think that they are improving because more than the screaming over singing is the way that they are making the music (More Harder and Darker).
And i'm agree with you OtakuBen: sometimes is good see how kyo cut himself but sometimes is shocking that he does almost every show. plus the way that sings sometimes, shows a tired voice, even saying unrecognizable words. thinking that he needs a rest or a hiatus xD

I also agree with you, OtakuBen. I don't really like the fact that Kyo mutilates himself of stage. It makes me sad (but also a little excited sometimes), but it's his thing so...yeah it's not like I can do anything about it. And he really needs a break/hiatus. He just sounds so worn out ;^;

i dont really have a fav....to be honest im not a huge fan atm i was but idk y im not now...(i still listin to them tho got some of there songs on my mp3) but i just wanted to say that the reason i got into diru was cuz a girl that i knew sent me a link to find out wat i thought..she sent me to a link of obscure the video..when i first saw it i was just in aww...i was like what the hell is this shit.....but then idk why but something told me to go back to it and watch it again and again and now i cant get enough of that video or them...by the way.. DIR EN GREY RULLES!!!!!!

Hahah omg I was the same way when I first saw their 'Obscure' MV. I loved the song but when it came to the video I was like "OMG what the hell?! that's so gross."
Then about a month later, I watched the video again and I probably watched it 50 times that day XD I love the video so much.
One of their video's I hate it for their song [KR]Cube. I love the song, but something about the video for it urks me =_=;

I fell in love with the band as a junior in high-school. A really good friend of mine new that I loved Miyavi so she introduced me to Diru, and they are, to this day and eternally, my favorite band. I've got all of their cd's as well as a few DVD's...the DVD's freaked out my family lol. I can't get their faces out of my head when they saw the video for Aggitated Screams of Maggots....if only I had my camera with me then.

Music is great, but its not a band until vocals are added!, And i must say Kyo's vocals are great!

I'm not to huge into them but my GF is a hardcore fan seen them 3 times live. An I've given them a chance myself listened to their discography but I'm suprised by how many people say that Kyo is a good singer.
Almost all their songs have effects on his voice. An thats not bad I like effects but... He's never really shown what his voice can do without effects. He's creative singer but I wouldent say a amazing one..
Also seeing them live was kinda a bummer. No one except the bassist really got into it he was jamming everywhere the rest the band was just kinda standing playing there instruments was really surprised by that. An they didnt play that long etheir. Even the singer who has a reputation for being crazy live didnt really interact with the crowd just raised his arms a few times and head banged for a min.
The spoil shows there movements at live shows. Kinda funny.
Maybe I'm crazy cause everyone else seemed fine with that. But I've been to shows that feature some chill artists that rocked way harder than them.

The first one I heard from this band was "Egnirys Cimredopyh", which was cool. Two singles later and an album off YesAsia, and I was a fan.

I bought the European release of Uroboros a few months ago, and I really loved how atmospheric and off the wall it was, as well as holding a lot of burning anger, which comes across very powerfully. I'm sad to say I haven't heard as much as I'd like to have from their older, more 'visual' days, though...

Well, I have been a fan for almost a year. Like a few others among us, the first video I saw was OBSCURE. I checked it out after some one suggested to check it out in the comment section while I was watching the MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - Bikini Sports Punching PV, and well I've been a fan ever since. as for a favorite member, well I don't have a favorite member, but I will have to say Kaoru ONLY BECAUSE I freaking LOVE his ESP Ganesa guitar models.
My current favorite song is the rerecording of ZAN, I mean the first one was good, but the new one is just epic or at least I think so...
