do i rock? or am i just too rough?

hey everyone, i was plaing my guiar earlier, and i composed this song. for the solo, i played a crazy solo out of the blue on my guitar, and it included mostly the high E, B, and G strings. while i was playing i was playing really fast, and i used the whammy bar a little, and i went back to playing the solo, but when i came back to it, my B string broke. and i mean you heard a *snap!*. so was i really playing a good solo? or was i just being sloppy? my brother who was witness laughed at me and said that i was too crazy and was gonna be a famous guitarist someday. but what do u all think?

There are a lot of things that affect whether strings will break, including: material, humidity, temperature, play style, wear and tear, pick choice, string quality, and other factors. Usually guitar strings are quite durable compared to something like violin strings, because they are often made out of nylon or metal.

If you play on your strings badly, in addition to breaking them, you will also have a bad quality of tone. If you are getting a good quality of tone, then you aren't overplaying your strings and you shouldn't worry about one of them breaking from time to time. It happens. You should just be aware and always check and make sure your strings are in decent shape before any public performance.

well all of what u said was true, but when i was playing i was rather rough. and i can be rough on my higher strings sometimes, but for the most part, i strum them like normal.

now what i really need to be worried about is getting new ones.
