Don't think so. Long hair falling out is simply easier to notice.
Still it is substantially harder to take care of long hair and the skin under it, so I can imagine one being more susceptible to dandruff and other shit if not taking care of it properly.
yep when i used to have long hair it was down to my shoulders. i noticed the hair more easily due the the longness factor and it was easier to spot. now that i have short hair again, i don't notice hair falling out. but one of my friend's friends had long golden hair down to his mid-back. he's a fukken expert on long hair. he just said that hair falling out is a natural body process and it happens to everyone. it doesn't mean it will grow back. and with long hair it's also easier for it to break due to combing, brushing, washing and such. though wearing a hat with make you go bald quicker :?
