Animated are ok, we probably just won't use it on the site.If you're not gonna use it then it's pretty much just a waste of time to make and join the competition with one, so you might as well just make a "no gif's"-rule.
Or can a gif-banner win but you ain't gonna use it?

So for this iteration of the Icarus Manga Giveaway, we decided to do something that can utilize skills that many of you have. This time around, we are running a banner contest! Something we haven't done for... well, a long time. What we'd like you do do is make the best banner you can for the site. Here are the requirements:[list]* Banner must be 806x90 pixels. No more, no less
* Must fit into the site theme
* Must have FAKKU! in it
* Must be in .jpg format. No animated .gifs, please
* One entry per person
