You do not need to reformat the drive.
Using the
convert command in the command prompt, you can convert any disc from FAT16/32 to NTFS without having to reformat. However; backup your data just in case.
Also, this is a one-way trip. (e.g. FAT->NTFS and
NOT NTFS->FAT)
