Class Member for Comcast P2P Throttling Settlement? If you are a former (or still current) Comcast high-speed Internet customer who either used or attempted to use Ares, BitTorrent, eDonkey, FastTrack, or Gnutella between April 1, 2006 and Dec. 31, 2008 or Lotus Notes between March 26, 2007 and Oct. 3, 2007 then you are eligible for part of the $16 million dollar settlement (you will receive a share of this amount, not to exceed
$16.00).
Someone filed a lawsuit claiming false advertising on part of Comcast. They claimed to have "high speed internet"; however, when people downloaded with Bittorent clients, they received reduced (and sometimes even blocked) speeds. This was because Comcast intentionally throttled Bittorent users, which is apparently illegal according to this lawsuit.
If you have ever used a Bittorent client and use Comcast, you are eligible for $16 of this settlement, but only if you submit a claim at this website:

BTW: You will need to know your Comcast account number!
