Help a poor Gunpla newb =(

I only recently started Gunpla (last year at AmeCon, I took one look at a Graham Custom Overflag and fell in love) and have yet to progress beyond MG 1.100 in terms of complexity. My list so far is small and depressingly 00-related (the stall I go to at cons usually has what's popular at the moment, and that means 00 xD), and consists of:
Overflag Graham Custom (HG Gundam 00, 1/144)
Mr. Bushido's Custom Ahead ("")
Tieren Taozi ("")
Gouf Ignited Yzak Joule Custom (HG Gundam SEED, 1/144)
Gouf Custom (MG, 1/100)
See, not much =p ANYWAY, I've been looking to get into it a lot more than I already have and I have no idea as to resources, like sites, suppliers, tutorials etc. I was wondering if anyone could help me out and point a poor robot-lover to his dreams?
If you're feeling EXTRA nice, any tips on how to improve on out-of-the-box appearance (my knowledge so far extends to panel-lining alone =p). So, yes, I am asking about the basics of the basics, with great shame. *tears*
