If you just want to rip CGs from a VN. Just use PrintScreen(Prt Scr) button, then paste it to Paint program.
Ummm... yeah... I'm not that stupid. I know how to do that... But that's practically COPY-PASTING! I'm talking about ripping! As in RIPPING off the pictures themselves from the gamefiles.

That's not
RIPPING. that's just
COPY PASTING the screen.
REAL, ripping, will
USE A PROGRAM that will rip
all CGs, backgrounds and characters from the
CG.pak file
You'll need a certain problem, which I'm not familiar with, since I don't need to collect Cgs anymore if I have the game. and there's many sites that will offer CG packs for you to download for free.
honestly, you don't need to learn anything spesific . You just need the software and find a compatible CG.pak that can be ripped with it.
Tried this myself, when my friend gave me a program to rip the CGs, from Ar Tonelico. I ripped literally all the graphics that are available, even the effect graphics. Resulting in THOUSANDS of files that mainly consists of character sprites, graphic effects and all the other smaller stuff.
YOU'LL NEED A DIFFERENT SOFTWARE FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF PACK FILES and yes
YOU CAN RIP BGMS AND OTHER STUFF IF YOU HAVE THE SOFTWARE
REAL RIPPING IS SERIOUS BUSINESS
I tried ripping just now, but I failed miserably... I only managed to rip the voices, and WOW they sound a LOT better in the game.
I knew ripping wasn't easy, but I didn't know it was so HARD!!! How will I know which software could rip which? Do you know a thing or two? Could you tell me something? Pls.
