How to take care of you figures?

The title says it all. I am going to start collecting figures now that I have time again. I was wondering before I start if there are things I should look out for when buying figures and how to take care of them after I bought them.

You should keep it inside the box when you have brought it.. i do that

the way i take care of my figures is i have a large soft bristle brush and i dust them every so often to keep them form getting dusty ...other than that theres not much elsy you can do really

keep them in tip top condition XD but how i dont know i just brush them and wipe them with a slightly wet cloth

Personally, I use the same air duster I use on my computer to keep them clean. I'm scared even the softest brush might scratch them. e_e
Save the boxes for if you need to transport them, or if you tossed them out already, wrap them up in packaging foam or whatever so they don't rub against things.

What's classified as a fake?

I usually just dust them. I try to keep them out of the sunlight and try to keep them out of the heat.

Also, it doesn't hurt them, but don't jizz on your figures. If you do, wash it off. Please.



Bootleg Figures. They look like the real ones, or supposed to.

Are there ways to spot fakes (except for being extremely experienced).

I live in Australia and I don't know what places are credible to purchase from. But I am planning a trip to Japan soon so that should be fun!

I prefer keep it inside transparent box, and seal it off with tape (just to make sure there isn't any dust inside box).


And i regulary clean them every 2 week. I use brush for make-up (that's the softest brust i ever found) and moist towel to get rid some dirt that can't be remove by brush

I've had a glass case for most of my models. Still haveta dust them every once in a while. Just get a brush or something and clean them every few weeks

Same here.. but I recommend for proper viewing that you get one of the glass covered stand things..
