The Casino Royale movie is like The Dark Knight - it's almost a complete reboot of th JB franchise, but at least the enemy is a reflection of society's evils instead of, what, Die Another Day's Korean-with-cosmetic-surgery with a satelite laser?
But I have to concede - Quantum of Solace is quite overdone. But at least it all explains James Bond's psyche and maturity growth as well. At Casino Royale he is a greenhorn with a knack of cards and a gun. At Quantum it showed progress - though the platform (the script, some of the plot) gave it injustice.
