Macross Anyone?

I liked the macross franchise,i know its not as big as gundam but if you all would want to discuss it..be my guest XD

I also like Macross. but I haven't seen Macross 7 and first Macross yet...
I just know about them from video games. :D

After all, I like Gundam better. :D

i do like gundam better but thats mostly because there is more of it

True,and the variable system is cool. but if you compare technology to gundam...Why do gundam invest technology on the mechs so much and not the surroundings.Example...they still use Monitors and LCD,whilst macross uses Holograms displays

Only watched Macross Zero, Macross and Frontier. gotta "go back" and watch Plus and Seven.

i watch Marcoss, Mospeda, Marcoss Seven and Marcoss Frontier, i like their dogfight, all the missile and bullet fly at all direction, the sound of explosion and ship hull get hit or tearing apart, makes my blood boil! oh right and the cry of rookie pilot crying for their momma at the moment of their demise. makes me feel sorry for those bastard.

Got a point there, KappaFriend. the sensor system and the variable system in macross are quite impressive for a mech or craft of their size. but let's not forget that the technology they uses is from a alien race far more superior and advance in many ways.

and also in the Macross realm the tech is more focused on space travel and terraforming other planets rather on the mechs. That's why most of the time they're on the defensive against the aliens.

I've heard good things about Macross Plus, but can anyone confirm this? The animation style is quite different.

Macross Plus is good. Nice dogfights and music. Story is also good.

@voltampirs: I picked out Macross Plus because in I think the AMV "Alternate Dimension" or "Memory Flash 2007" it featured scenes from Macross Plus (as I found out in the credits) that really appealed to me.

Btw, the two AMVs aforementioned have the AMV creator Nostromo VX as one of its AMV contributors. His AMV work is the best I've ever seen.

Watched Macross (the first one), Macross Plus, and Macross 7. Wow, I'm surprised I'm the only one who didn't watch Frontier yet....

@orpheus Mospeda is part of the Robotech universe right? Can't seem to remember...

Wha.. there's more to macross from Macross Frontier? Coz i've only seen the frontier one O_o

However it was still pretty awesome even with human warships's tendency to die in one shot and the explosion scene is awesome to watch.

And the valkyries is pretty cool, it even got me thinking on how would it be built in rl.. still looks farkin complex just to even start somewhere.
