well well.. i love mecha. specially Gundam,and i'm a big fans of it (except Gundam SEED who SUCKS)
we'll battle about mecha in this section. Real robot vs Super Robot.

reason : gundam is a Legend in Real Robot series. started in 1979,until 2008,gundam is never end! Tomino Yoshiyuki made a great masterpiece in creating gundam. Gundam will always be my favourite all the time (Except gundam SEED).
my favourite is from Gundam Blue Destiny. and the pilot,Nimbus Schterzen!!

To tell people the truth I've never liked mech-anime till TTGL. I'm more neutral to this conflict.
Both types for me have entertaining and intense battles. Honestly I can't really talk about Gundams because the only series I've seen is G Gundam. As of recently I've started liking mech-anime post TTGL. Mech battles for me have some of the greatest fights in anime history. All I can really say is Neutrality rocks!
\\also Vandread belongs more to Super robot type than Real Robot type. Really reconsider what you think is which because in all honesty Vandread is far too out there to be considered real type in my eyes.

Hmm i think Vandread is a combination.I mean the only real robot in there was the one the hero was using.But the Bird, The Crab and the Humanoid kinda seems like super robots.
I'll vote for the Real Robot.It has my all time fave Mecha Evangelion.Not only is it my fave,The story is very very unique.I mean off all the animes that I have watch,no anime has ever match the story.the way it confuses the watchers and the understanding of the story which seems to be the problems in life.The way it tells the story closing or matching reality.And the creepy sounds from classic composers.

I think I'm more of a Super fan than Real though I like the Gundam series a lot.
Oh yeah, I don't think you should mix the SRW originals into only super, they have real robot too.

Er...you have some S class Real Robots in your Super Robot list. Although G Gundam slides, Cybuster, Escaflowne, and Zone of the Enders are Real Robots, and maybe Fafner from what I've seen of the designs. Actually, Escaflowne is a lower tier Real Robot with the only thing that makes it any good is when its Dragon Form gained thrusters and went really fast. That's all. On the flip side, one can debate that Vandread and potentially Overman King Gainer may belong in the Super Robot category. I could let Overman King Gainer slide, but Vandread and its combining is what really makes it a Super Robot, plus how strong it becomes as the Super Vandread.
Also, while Nimbus Schterzen isn't my favorite character, one of my favorite Zeon OYW-era MS is his Efreet Custom.
Overall, I prefer the LM314V23/24 Victory 2 Assault Buster Gundam.
It's one of the few Real Robots that can take on a Super Robot and win. Overall, I prefer Real Robots because of the sleeker designs and the speed that goes with it.

i would have to go with real robots. all my mecha series are up there main ones being code geass and eva. i do have to say which transforemers are you meaning when you say transformers. i mean there are two main ones now days the old cartoon ones and yeah i am calling the them old up to the freaking energon series, and then there are the ones from the live action movie. now if you ask me the cartoon ones do belong in super category for most of them. however the live action ones i think could go into the real cause trutfully it is just a matter of time till we attain the tech to actually build something similar to that, and yeah i know that this level of tech is way the hell far away, but i can see the human race as attaing this tech level if we live long enough.

I've always liked real robots due to their much sleeker look and the overall more faster paced battles.
Then again I think most people will vote real robot due to the massive amount of publicity the gundam series has garnered for them. Although series like Mazinger and Shin Getter may be famous in their own right...

On the other hand, super robot series have gained a lot of ppularity thanks to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Also, in an actual fight, S class super robots would win, such as the Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The only real robot capable of winning is the Dis Astranagant, which has the ability to erase enemies from existence.
