Well, laptop only for work stuff, which is why i got a pretty cheap one(although it has nice specs)

I have a custom desktop gaming rig i put together for everythign else

sweet, I'm in college, so a laptop was all I could afford

I'd like to know what the typical Fakku member is using.
My work computer is very poor (mostly for compatibility testing)
I'm more interested in what video card everyone is using though.
So if people would be kind enough to post their stats, I would appreciate it.

But here's my WORK PC.

CPU: Celeron 1.2 Ghz
HD: 40 GB
RAM: 512
Video Card: an Intel Integrated card

The reason I'm interested in knowing this information, is because as a hobby, I may get into DirectX9+ or XNA game development. Both requires a video card from this decade. So I want to see how many, if anyone, are still using cards that don't support features like 'pixel shaders', in which case, if people are still using ancient hardware, like myself, I'll be more inclined to learn OpenGL.

My current PC's specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 2.2GHz (3.7GHz rating)
HD: 150GB 7200RPM SATA 1.5
RAM: 1GB PC3200 (400MHz)
Video Card: NVidia GeForce 7300 GS w/256MB onboard RAM

As soon as I am able to though, I will be building a new gaming rig that will end up costing about $2500 (I've already decided on the parts).

$2,500? Wow. You shouldn't have any problems running the latest games with the computer you have now. I guess if you have the money to spare though.

Sure I can run most new games, but I'd like to be able to max the quality on them. Plus, once I have it built, I won't need to upgrade much for quite a while.

EDIT - Also, I'm not dropping the whole $2500 at once. I'm going to buy just the parts needed to get it running over a couple months and those are about half of what it will cost in the end. The rest of the parts will be added on whenever I can afford them.
