the problem began when i bought a new router and connected my modem in it the i followed the instructions given by the manual then i could only go to the ip site of the given router i can't go to other site like fakku...
I have had D-link Cisco Belkin and Linksys routers and they all seem to have the same thing in common
Try this.
First step is to hook your modem directly to the nearest computer and see if it works
If it does do the following
And you will have to do the same procedure on each computer hooked to the router, wireless or hard wired
Sign onto the router using the I.P. address
See if it shows you logged on
If so Log off
If not
Look at the menu on the left Under "Internet WAN" find Mac Address and click
(it may ask for your password. I leave mine blank Regardless either put in your password and hit enter or just hit enter)
Click on "Clone Mac Address" and click OK
It will rattle around and finally finish
Log off the setup (if you don't you cant access any other computers till you do)
Go to the next computer do the same thing
When you have cloned the mac address of all the computers on the router
Reboot one of the computers and see if you can now get access
If it works reboot all your computers
If this doesnt work then NACHBAR is probably right. Push the reset button in and hold it for 10 seconds
This will set your router to factory defaults
Try accessing a web site again. If it still doesn't work
Put in the cd and run their setup again
IF it still doesnt work you may have a bad router
To be candid in all the years I have used a router I have only had one be bad out of the box
Email or call the the manufacturer with the problem. They usually have a 24 hour free tech support line. They may have s solution
Or
take it back to where you got it and exchange it
Side note: There are other sites besides FAKKU? Whoda Thunk :)
