For those cultural barbarians who don't know what is this show about:

Red Dwarf is a British science fiction situation comedy franchise, primarily comprising eight series of a television sitcom that ran on BBC Two between 1988 and 1999 and gained a cult following. It was created by, and the first six series were written by, Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. The show originated from a recurring sketch, Dave Hollins: Space Cadet part of the mid-1980s BBC Radio 4 comedy show Son of Cliché, also scripted by Grant and Naylor. In addition to the television episodes, there are four bestselling novels, two pilot episodes for an American version of the show, and tie-in books, magazines and other merchandise.
Despite the pastiche of science fiction used as a backdrop, Red Dwarf is primarily a character-driven comedy, with off-the-wall science fiction elements used as complementary plot devices. In the early episodes, a recurring source of comedy was the "Odd Couple" relationship between Dave Lister and Arnold Rimmer, the two central characters of the show, who have an intense dislike for each other but are trapped together deep in space.
So, after 10 years of waiting, the digital channel Dave made a new season of this sitcom. Although there are only 3 episodes at all, every RD fan was anticipating this Friday waiting for a new episode of this great series.
This new season isn't continuation of the last season, it's more like an alternativee story or whatever. One episode is out so far, the to two remaining will be airing today and tomorrow (Saturday - April 11, and Sunday - April 12) at GMT 9:00 PM.
So, is there anyone else here who was trembling like a kid when they announced this? Have you seen the first episode? What do you think about it?
My option is: The first ep wasn't anything revolutionary. It was just like ol' good Red Dwarf with disgusting Lister, egoistic Rimmer (hard-light wtf? he should have left as Ace before, no?) and fashion-crazy Cat.
What is disappointing me is, that they're not continuing where 8th season ended... I think we, fans, deserved it.
I'll write my option about the next two episodes once they're out.
