Last week, the long-running series
Scrubs came to an end. The show has had eight seasons and even jumped from one network to another for its final season.
I watched the finale, not because I'm a big Scrubs fan (the show tends to get on my nerves, honestly), but because I love seeing finales. Seeing how things tie up, what happens to make the show end, all that stuff is interesting to me. Will it be good or bad?
Don't open spoiler if you haven't seen the finale and don't want anything spoiled (duh):
The Scrubs finale wasn't too bad. Some old cast members showed up, but it was just in JD's imagination, and they were only there for a couple of seconds. But what really disappointed me was how the series ended. Normally, when a show ends, it's because the main character is moving away or other cast members are moving away, or there's simply some big change. Scrubs ended because JD got a new job, at a hospital that's closer to his baby-momma (I hate the term, but that's what she is). But JD's job isn't in another state or country or anything; it's not even an hour away. How fucking lame is that? Of course, JD and Turk are still friends, but, get this, they won't see each other that often because it's too long a drive and they're both busy with their women and babies. How dramatic!
Anyways, the show is over, but I'm sure it will live on for many more years, in syndication. Shit, reruns have been coming on all sorts of channels for years. I fear that I will never again in my life be able to turn on the TV and not be afraid of changing the channel and seeing Zach Braff.
