The horrors of the public transportation system

This story brought to you by what I assume is hard liquor...or at least I hope...

Today started like any other day. I woke up. I got dressed, I ate and I picked up my briefcase. I walked the requisite 3 blocks to the bus stop and waited for the bus I take to the university. As I sat I noticed there were other people gathering around the bus stop waiting for it. The bus comes, and people pour out. I step onto the bus and sit down in the middle part of the bus (it's one of those double buses that have the point in the center where they flex.) and who comes to sit across from me? Why is a man who hasn't bathed in days. cigarette bouncing between his teeth as he sits his very smelly self down across the isle and proceeded to move erratically and growl to himself (no words just random animal like noises.) He didn't look like he was all the way there. Just sitting there twitching and growling while fidgeting with his cigarette the entire bus ride. The smell was horrible. Why is it that public transit seems to be populated by either college kids or the chronically smelly?

Actually something like this was happening at least once per two weeks where I'm from. Solution is simple: wait after those creatures get on deck and then pick your seat.

I had already picked a seat though...and you could smell the guy from across the buss. there was no escape! T_T

Yep..Sometimes when I ride buses, people smell like fart..The ninja fart ..Rotten eggs.. OMG that was horrible.

I have too many stories for the public transit. Needless to say I don't ever want to go back to using it after getting my first car.

Umm, gross, this is why i avoid public transit at all costs.

Me? I'm from Oregon. Where the homeless people arrive in droves to stink up our buses.

I'm reminded of the time I was on a bus coming from a family lunch when a woman got on that literally had the smell of death on her. As if something had died on her person and had been sitting for sometime. All I could imagine were images of horrible grotesque things she might have been involved in to inherit such a smell as her invasive odor clogged the whole bus. One middle school aged girl in the back actually gagged.

that situation is common in every public transportation service. just suffer the consequences.

A girl was drinking on the metro rail she breaks the bottle on the floor the police come and she says that all the that all of it was all ready there.

Still better than being stuck on a train without ventillation in rush hour without a seat

Though you can't blame the homeless for not being able to wash themselves... Guess you should be happy that they can travel freely like that.

thankfully I've never encountered it, there is no local transport service like that where I live just the uni bus serves that traipses about campus, and I drive the hour that it takes me to get to class and walk around campus.

I am very firm with people getting anywhere near me.

I am VERY loud, and very unafraid of causing a needless scene because someone got too close to me.
