The one that got away...

Does anyone here have a "the one that got away" story? I do...

It was September of 1996. Grade 7 was about to start and I was exited to see my all my friends again, but I was really exited to see if there were any new girls who transfered into my school. You see, over the summer, I learned about masturbation and porn and I was fapping maybe once a week, so girls became my top priority (o.O). You may be thinking, "what the hell? grade 7? not sooner?". Well, in grade 5, this really ugly girl confessed that she liked me. It traumatized me. I couldn't blame her though; I was pretty sexy in my grade school years. SOO back to grade 7...

I was saddened to see that no hot girls moved into my school, but there were still all the other girls from last year, but they got hotter. Well, maybe their appearances didn't change to much, but my view of them changed. There was this girl I started to like halfway into the year, but my best friend told me he liked her a lot, so I just forgot about her.

Throughout the school year, I was able to befriend most of the girls in my class, so I was feeling lucky. There was this one girl who was really beautiful and I thought she was way out of my league. One day, she sat beside me in science class and we just started talking. For We did this for a week. I felt awesome because I just befriended the hottest girl in school. I couldn't get any closer than being friends though, because she had a boyfriend. He was in the same grade and we were friends, so I backed off for a bit. They broke up after winter. I decided I would make a move in the summer and to try to get to know her along the way.

Well, it was a bad choice to wait. It was June 1997 and she found a new boyfriend. He was a year older than I, and I backed off again. Sigh...

We had lost contact over summer break, so I really looked forward to seeing her again after summer break at school.

The summer of 1997 ended and we were back in school. I was in grade 8 now. We were the oldest students in school now, so my classmates and I felt good to no longer be the small ones. I talked to her as soon as I saw her and I had heard she was still with her boyfriend. He was in high school now, away from her.

Well, an over-night trip was coming up for all of the grade 8s. Everyone was exited. We went to some ranch to bond as Grade 8s. The trip lasted for 5 days. I spent most of the time with her, and her with me. Just us two, alone. Rumors about us dating started spreading, but we just denied it and said she was still going out with her boyfriend in high school (which she was). I got really close to her on that trip. I think that's when I fell "in love" with her. I couldn't do anything though, because she was still going out with that high school kid.

Winter of 1997 came and she gave me a letter. It said that she was starting to like this other guy and asked me if she should break up with her boyfriend or not. I didn't want anyone to get hurt, so I told her I didn't have any advice.

We got even closer in the winter. She finally told me that she broke up with her boyfriend and that I was the one she liked. I expected this, but I was still shocked. How could such a beautiful girl like me?

We grew closer. We hugged every time we separated. We said some "I love you"s. It was basically an unofficial relationship. I decided I would make it official.

I decided I would make my move on Valentine's Day (1998), which was in 3 weeks. I asked her if she wanted to go to the mall and some other friends. She said yes. I told my other friends just to agree on coming but not actually go, so I could spend some alone time with her.

Valentine's Day came, and I was waiting at the mall. I saw her with some of her other friends. She said "I hope you don't mind, but I brought some other friends."
I swore under my breath because I wanted to be alone with her for the day. I couldn't make a move because I was too scared to, with her friends there. So I decided to wait.

I kept waiting for another day to ask her out, but I kept chickening out. Eventually she told me that I took too long to ask her and she just stopped talking to me.

And that's my story.

I was crippled by the event. I couldn't believe it.

After a few months she started seeing another guy.

Well, I had learned from the event. Like in 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas', my balls grew three sizes larger after the event. I didn't hesitate to ask girls out after that.

Remember that letter I was talking about (9th paragraph)? The one where she tells me she fell for another guy (who was me)? I still have that letter. I've kept it in my wallet and I have it still. It serves as a reminder to my past mistakes.

So anyone have a similar story? Please reply. Sorry it was this long.

Okay, I had a long story written, but th tab closed, so here we go again:

When I was 13, there was this girl on my hockey team that I liked. Now, you may be thinking, "Girls? Hockey? No way!", but yes, she was pretty athletic (also really hot). So naturally, I tried to get closer to her.

It took a little while (not long, 3-4 days or so) before I could casually start conversations with her. We usually started off talking about the next game that we'd be playing, and it'd branch of into how our days were, then anythign else we came up with.

My mom and her mom were good friends, so I'd go over to her house every now and then (not mine, my house is too small ._.), and we'd play pool, make fun of this one guy on our team (we nicknamed him Gumby because he's so tall and skinny/weak), and we did it ALOT. Every hour or so, we'd come up with something new to say about him. xD

Anyway, one day, one the way there, I decided I was gonna ask her out, and made the worst decision possible, asked my mom for advice on the way there. Good thing she didn't say anything about it. So, the day went by normally, we hung out, played pool, I completely forgot about asking her out, until we were watching a hockey game later.

I decided to ask her now,so I turned to her and said:

"KJHkjakhiuoyeuiwhjlkdslkjns...jhdjkhuw?"

Se looked at me like I as retarded. Of course, I was actualy too nervous to be straight up about it. She asked me what I said, and I responded

"Umm.. would you like to jhkhiuasyouihw?"

I almost lost hope, but cleared my brain, and said:

"Umm, I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie tommorrow... is that okay?"

Now, I shoulda stopped there, but I went and ruind it. "I actually have 2 free tickets, and I don't know who else to bring. So I was wondering if you'd like to go..."

She actually said yes at first. So I was really happy, and soon after, I went home. The next day, she calls me to tell her she forgot that she had a soccer game that day.

Now, keep in mind that this is the MIDDLE OF FUCKING WNTER we're talking about. I was petty sure I just got rejected, and pretty badly at that. So yeah, a few days later, she started going out with someone else on my team, and they've been together for 5 years now.

Well there was this gurl i liked really much in highskool, the whole highskool, and well the first year i spent it makin a move on her but since i was just too shy about it it all came out wrong or half da way or some other crap, so eventually i gave up on her but still hold some attraction to her

But da next year it turn out that SHE then started making the move on me but i was just to stupid to notice, that and that she was kinda shy

So then the next year we both knew the other was into the other but we were both waiting for the other one to make the first move so time passed and passed and my comrades made fun of us trying to make us confess ans stuff but graduation came and neither of us did summthing and we both got away then later about half a year i found out that she's got a boyfrind and think "good for her, she doesn't deserve a fagg like me" and so now i learned my lesson and now i'm a lot bolder now but still quite shy.
And well that's my story hope u enjoyed and learn from it

not really in high skool before i changed skools i was bullied by most of my class so my selfesteem was really really low up until recently so because of that I'm stil pretty shy, stronger and with bigger balls but stronger than before u_u

Reminds me of what happened to me.

Bwahahaha that reminds me of 5th grade. I was too stupid back then to notice the girl's feelings. We talked often and i eventually started hanging out with her, we poked each other (like the flirting elementary kids that we were) and had lots of fun. Eventually, some of my friends told me that she liked me, and some of her friends said the same thing. I thought that it would be nice to go out with her (even though i didnt really know what it meant). I always chickened out whenever i had a good chance, and eventually, at the end of 5th grade, she got a boyfriend (and it wasnt me).

Im actually glad i didnt go out with her though. I turns out that she went to a different middle school, and eventually high school than me. She was rumored to be a pothead, and her boyfriend's rumors were worse (i was actually sort of friends with him). By 8th grade, i had lost all contact with the girl, but i still heard rumors about her boyfriend. It turns out that he had to be transferred to the high school at 8th grade due to the amount of violence he showed toward fellow students. He was a pothead, drug dealer, gang member, and had got sent to juvi twice. Yah, not the best boyfriend to have... I feel kinda sad for that girl.

Ive got no idea where either of them are now. Shes probably selling herself, and hes probably in jail. I still feel like i coulda helped her avoid all of this if i just asked her out.

Also, i was pretty cute back then, but probably not so much now.

What the hell is up with kids getting into relationships so early? 5th grade?? I didn't even think about relationships till 9th grade!

And also, what is up with girls constantly hopping from guy to guy? From your stories, they seem to get a new boyfriend each year that passes. Is that normal over there? Sounds pretty crazy to me.

And now for the OP. The girl was a freaking man-eater. I think it's best you two didn't get together, as it seems likely that it would've been just another short term thing.

Seems like 90% of these so far as simple to fix. Same with my example.

Really, long story short, grow a set of nuts (or just be braver if you don't have them) and get it over with. You get rejected, shit happens. Don't let stuff like that dictate you too much.

Mine is the same as most. I didn't have the gall to ask her. It was fuckin' set up perfectly too. I was a Junior at the time (as in 11th grade) she was one year below me. Only Juniors and above were allowed to go to the Prom (which I didn't see the point of, but regardless) unless someone asked you from the two grades that could go. I was damn certain she was pretty much thinking along the same lines as me, and would've gone without hesitation. (really helped being one of those who could go to basically anyone and hang-out. Delving information if I needed) But alas I sat on my ass and never gathered up the courage to ask.

Now, I don't sit up every night worrying about it. But here and again, I wonder what could have happened. Doesn't matter now though. I'm no where near that place anymore, about to enter the Navy, and she's still in school way back there. (I only graduated last year. Not too old yet.)

Not that close, but years ago I met this girl, I fell in love with her the first time I saw her, but then I denied my feelings. A year later, we were together again (I was in a relationship, but then I feel the same for her) we talked and spent time together but then I never confessed it to her. Now were together...
