The house is the first one he says you're not on, which is true, but with 7 moves it's impossible to get to the house. Nice trick.

I picked the Q but I messed up a couple times. He kinda counted too fast. lol

This is as simple as analyzing the possiblity of one being able to move to a certain square in a certain number of moves. For example, when there were three cards left, it is impossible (as far as I can tell) to land on the wavy lines, assuming you followed his instructions point-to-point. Like rbz said, it is also impossible to land on the house on the second round, as the number of steps(7) does not allow you to possibly land on the house.
