underrated or Indie bands/artist

Spread the word about your favorite musical artist or band that you think is not getting the attention or album sales they deserve and share them with your fellow fakkers.

For me I'd say Beirut, Explosions in the Sky, and The Long Mouth Castle are artists that really should be hitting the big times with their songs, it also pisses me off how a crappy band like Boys Like Girls is landing a huge record deal with their shitty pop emo shit.

Sam Totman (Dragonforce) and Dan Donegan (Disturbed) are highly underrated in my opinion.

Both guitar players of the top class.

Regarding bands, I know a lot underground metal bands with enormous skills that just don't get the attention they deserve.



Unfair, isn't it?

Hokay. Firstly, the two bands quoted are mainstream bands. They don't NEED anymore attention. Besides, I just hate Dragonforce because they are liked by almost everyone I know and they aren't that good compared to older bands. Perhaps I'm just some old bastard, but that's my opinion on the matter.

I don't have many indie bands that I'd inflict on the world, I only remember The Missing. I'm not even sure if they're still around.

And emo/punk bands are irritating, but a hit with the kids, therefore easy money.

I said the artists are underrated, not their bands.

My brother just replaced the lead guitarist for this band a week or two ago. He has a gig with them today at the Boardwalk. Vocals aren't the best, but whatever. Heh, his picture isn't up on the page yet though.

Both have a huge fan base but never breakout due to their "different" style, kinda how no one cared about "Hey there Delilah" - Plain White T's till now, when the mainstream (fucking wrist cuttin trend followers) RE-picked it up. I'm hoping they hit big but on the other hand you wouldn't want to see your favorite musician(s) being slaughtered by the media. Plus, I hate going to concerts with fucking 14 year-olds, but that's just what happens when bands get big.

Most of these are folk hybrid bands, but it really don't get much more indie.

"Hoffmaestro and Chraa" for one... and Diablo Swing Orchestra... Seriously, they mix Swing/Bebop Jazz and Metal... It's freaking awesome


And for Hoffmaestro, they're just plain awesome. Sadly a video like this don't really do them justice. They are supposed to been seen live as it enhances the experience x100.
