UPS recommendations?

I've read the FAQ over at Tom's Hardware because I'm seriously considering buying one. The power here is not as reliable as it should and lights dim a bit when my dad does some welding or when the AC kicks on. I figure I at least want one thats line interactive so it filters the power. The computer has a dual core athlon X2, a GTX 260, 4 hard drives, a dvdrw, and a dvdrom drive. Obviously I want one thats as cheap as possible.
I'm thinking of buying this one. Any thoughts?

Pros: Good name of company, somewhat sullied by a defective product. Quick reaction from Tripp Lite.
Cons: Doesn't work. Same random shutoffs people have noted here. Scary to come home and find comp has shut off at random intervals.
Other Thoughts: I called Tripp Lite customer service. Mine was only 6 months old so they replaced it w/ SMART750USB, a more expensive model and hopefully one that works. No return necessary. Consumer Reports found Tripp Lite was the only surge suppressor that actually worked, so I've always thought they had high quality, and hoped for the same from their UPS. I'm hoping the AVR750 was a fluke.
but hey i like belkin mostly because i own one and it works pretty well.
