Urban exploring is exploring places that are usually off-limits. Checking about abandoned mental hospitals, sewers, tunnels, etc. Ghost hunting is similar, except that urban exploring can be done just for fun, or to see cool architecture, while ghost hunting is done (of course) to find ghosts or paranormal shit.
I've never done either of them, but I would love to. There aren't a lot of places around here to explore, but I'm sure my friends and I could find some places that aren't too far away. I'd really love to check out an old mental institution or hospital, to see what sort of shit is left behind. And to see whatever graffiti people may have put up.
I hadn't thought of that, and that's sad, because my brother and his friends have squatted many times. And hearing it from him, not all squatters are nice like he and his friends are.
I'd want to do this as well, but I lack buildings. Getting some friends and hunting through an old abandoned warehouse sounds like a ton of fun though.
I've done it a few times in supposedly haunted places around Virginia.
Not because I really was trying to see ghosts or anything, but because when you live in an area with a lot of places that a lot of people think are haunted, and these people find out you are a "skeptic," they decide you need to see those places.
Those places that they have never personally been to, but believe to be haunted by things they have never seen and have no proof exist at all.
But I mean, you can see some sortof interesting things. Battlefields are cool, especially at night. Very quiet.
Well, a couple years ago me and some good old friends (we have now moved away from each other, one moving back to malaysia) found this abandoned hospital.
So the next day we got drinks snacks and a light (i bought mah camera :D) it was quite hard to get in because it was bolted up everywhere and there was a police station behind it (with cameras, this is illegal btw so keep that in mind if you attempt something like this).
One of use had to climb over and find and opening and after about 5 mins we were in :D
It was friggin scary, and there was decaying birds and trash everywhere O_O'
We found some amazing graffiti and got to the top of the building, was epic :)
There was signs of people staying there but we didnt come across anybody (im a chicken so i was scared the most about this haha).
