Options:
-t Ping the specified host until stopped.
To see statistics and continue - type Control-Break;
To stop - type Control-C.
Ping allows oneself to see if a computer on the networks interface is functioning correctly, and the time it takes to respond is often measured to see how slow or fast the network between your computer and the pinged computer is.

What? The IP address of a network is the external address that
your computer connects to when requesting a service. DNS [Domain Name Server/s] resolve a Domain Name [for example, FAKKU.net] and return an IP address [for example, 72.167.165.178] that you then use to connect to. Since it's a website, you connect to port 80 [the HTTP port].
