Yeah what schmitty said. If there's a reset button on the back of your router, hold that for 20seconds, while it's still plugged it. Helps me a lot.
what you're doing is called a "hard reset"
if you use this it could be extremely dangerous...
by using a hard reset you put your router settings back to the settings when it came out from the factory...
in other words... the following might happen
- wireless password will be errased or reset to a password like "A73542HNAD5S"
- your laptops have configurated the connection before will still not be able to connect
- you need to reconfigure the router OR laptops to the password of the router's wireless...
to acces your router you have to get on a pc that doesnt use wireless and go to the router's interface. try going to the following pages
http://192.168.0.1
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.0.254
http://192.168.1.254
these are the router adresses that are released on a router that has just been reset...
usually the password is "admin" or no password at all... it all depends on what kind of router you have
once inside the router you can change your password for the wireless on your WLAN tab... try looking for it... remember, every router is different so it can have different names.
it could also be a good idea to name your wireless router's name to a name you understand, like your surname. so you know you're connected to the right connection.
