Because this site has so many students studying THIS subject, and yet we have no topic on how to become a 'good' entrepreneur. Or a thread discussing about the subject on entrepreneurship itself. Or perhaps a thread to discuss an idea you want to develop, in entrepreneur sense.
Now, how should I start this? OK, for starter, I've been on the business for four years. I can't say four years is enough for me to call me an 'experienced' entrepreneur, but at the very least, I have a bit something I can share, whether it be mere knowledge or experience, on entrepreneurship.
Rather than debating about "What should an entrepreneur do" or "How to become an entrepreneur" or other theoretical jackshit that does not actually applicable when you start up a business, let's discuss ideas you have, or business you already had, or anything.
A little bit of inspiration, if I might say, written by an entrepreneur I admire. I was truly inspired by this, and I hope it might inspire you too.

There are two types of entrepreneurs to my mind. Those who have a desire to create something, and those who have a desire to monetize something. A creative entrepreneur finds joy in the building of a successful venture. The monetizing entrepreneur finds joy in taking something and finding a way to make it profitable.
There is nothing inherently good or evil in either type. A creative entrepreneur can be a rat bastard in their drive to make their business successful; a monetizing entrepreneur can be a fantastic person to work for.

In my opinion a true entrepenuer (encompassing all the characteristics you've just mentioned plus a few more) is someone who sees potential in an idea where no one else does.
Standing up after failure is difficult, but the true greats who bask in their well-earned wealth never let defeat put them down.
Just a reference: J.K. Rowling took her ambitious novel idea to 11 (possibly more) different publishers, all who shot her down because her story idea simply wasn't marketable. Finally someone picked it up and it just so happened to be the literary event that defined a generation. If she'd given up after being turned away so many times (and I'm sure she was tempted to), no one would have ever enjoyed Harry Potter.

In US we are mostly taught to be cubical slaves or industry drones. the main point of public school is: 'sit down and shut up'. do what you're told and don't question authority. it's so engrained that even parents will discourage any type of venture suggested by their children. "that would be nice, but you should really just look for a job."
consider how many small businesses are owned by immigrants. they haven't been indoctrinated. they actually go for the 'american dream'. i've even seen their children, the first generation born in america, lose that dream.
