There is only one intelligent advice abouth gangs , get as far as you can from them .

You asked for advice and we are giving you advice to move because nothing good will come by associating with gang members. They will always ask for something out of you whether it is money, a job, or anything illegal. They are cancerous and always spread so it's best to cut ties with your so called friends and move away.
Also I'm sick of that one love bull shit.

So a group that is heavily active in distribution, prostitution, theft, robbery, gun trafficking, murder, embezzlement, money laundering, racketeering, and other crimes are not considered trash? Again, they contribute nothing to society and are an obstacle for underdeveloped areas from developing and progressing. They are cancerous that prey on the weak and do nothing to aid the innocent or those that ares struggling, but do more harm than good. If you truly believe they are good guys then I consider you question your logic or rational and let go of your feelings of friendship towards them. My parents raised me on a foundation of morals/ discipline, but I prefer to follow my own set of morals that I believe based on different observations, what I have learned so far, and other factors.
Edit: If you truly believe this then you are part of the problem in the, "hood" or impoverished areas that plague African Ameircan, Latino, and other minority communities in America or across the world.

You are part the problem at the fact that you tolerate their bull shit and associate with the issue. You are more of a coward and rat who is more concerned for himself and would rather associate with trash. Until the people of the impoverished areas stand up to the cancer they will always be plagued by the group that is bringing them down.

But you're right , and i can aswer your question . Men search for power because power makes them feel good and beign in a gang gives you this "sensation" of power . That's why rappers talk abouth it like a good thing , but this sensation is illusory . The sad part is that they probably don't know any other way to get near happyness ...

If you never watched the movie "dangerous minds" , i recommend you to watch it , it's a classic abouth the "gang problem" . The song Gangster's Paradise is from this movie .

Trust me .... I know what it feels like growing up in such a neighborhood and suddenly getting involved without notice and then getting pulled in a situation where you might end up being the victim.

However I still choose moving away .. but .. if you have a strong sense of justice and wish your neighborhood to be clean .. then I suggest doing something that will slowly decrease their numbers such as giving cops a few tips about their activities and warn and explain the situation to the people that are innocent.

However I tell you this .. nobody is a friend when it comes to gang related issues .. in the end ... it's all about being loyal to their superiors and not to their friends and family.

So please refrain from any rash movements and try to slowly pull away from this situation you are in.

i almost stopped reading right there. then i remembered when i lived in a small town for a while. some gangsters from a larger town saved some money and bought a house so they could set up a new spot to sell drugs with less competition. eventualy some of the local youth tried to join them, and others formed a rival gang. it turned out that one of the originals was a cousin of someone i knew from back home. my friend told me the originals only cared about selling drugs and thought the youngsters were all a joke. the youngsters started to escalate the rivalry to the point of murder. first the 'recruits' were trying to impress the originals, then the rivals to prove they were just as tough. but i digress...


as to how to deal with the new ones, in my experience with mexican gangsters(norteno/sureno), both the factions were basicly the same. there were the same few personalities i kept seeing: hard core down for the cause, born into the gang, only here to get women and drugs, new recruit(the most dangrous because they're desperate to prove themselves), and the unknowing jester(probably a few more, but it's been awhile). you should be able to apply what you know of one gang to the other. under it all they are probably pretty similar people.
