It doesn't have to go in IB. IB is not the only other active section on the forums. It should be in the Anime General or Manga, Doujinshi, and Video Discussion section. IB is the only section where you won't get an actual discussion for venting your views. This isn't really a thread to be in Serious Discussion - something like questioning views on general social opinion toward interests may be serious discussion material.

You also haven't opened a 'discussion' - you've just given your opinion on something. What were you planning to discuss?

If I remember correctly, the post you're referring to was in IB. That in itself is an automatically doomed thread.

You're going to find people that dislike your fetishes no matter where you are in the world, even in the perverted forums of Fakku. I like furry's occasionally if drawn well but I'll admit I used to bash on fetish's like NTR and traps. I don't do that anymore especially since I found doujins that contained those tags in which I later realized I enjoyed them. I try not to be quick to judge anymore for that reason.

I do mind the tendency of some furries towards playing the victim, but I don't care about the things that get other people off.

I know it doesn't apply to everyone, but it's quite often that when I see someone bashing down on some fetish and calling the people who read/watch it for garbage that should be executed - it's someone who likes furry. Happens often enough for me to avoid having conversations with furry people.

Given that the attitude towards furries is either "meh, I don't care" and "You sick fucks!", I can understand the "playing the victim part".

Because they are victims. Even if they aren't doing anything to anyone else and stick to each other, chances are thay'll be blasted for it. Its like lolicons. Even if they never look at a real life child, they will still be labelled as pedophiles by many people, potentially even jailed for it.

I've noticed many furries display their victimness outside of anything relevant, and they make it a huge part of their identity, instead of just being who they are.

It's a difficult area. I don't fully understand why people see the need to do it, especially on a hentai site where we should embrace people's interests because we all share an interest in hentai; that interest of people may, unfortunately, not be accepted by people in real life, but should be with people of the same hobby both online e.g. FAKKU! (unless you're in IB - then you bring it upon yourself) and in real life.

As retarded as people are for doing it, we just have to accept it because that's how people are. It's like in real life, people may judge your taste in music; similarly, people may judge your hentai interests. They feel the need to do it because the genre you are into doesn't appeal to them - it isn't one of their fetishes or interests. It is therefore not important to them, so they just go and insult it and the person for liking it, which makes no sense.

If it happened to me it wouldn't bother me. I am aware that people have their own interests and may not be into what I'm into - though I don't understand the reason for judging someone based on what they like, but I don't get offended, insulted or butt hurt by it.

Take music again: the people who only listen to one or two genres of music are limiting themselves and missing out on other great content out there - in my opinion, it is the same with hentai. I think people should read more hentai of different genres and maybe discover other fetishes that they didn't realise they had. If they don't like something, fine. Just leave it alone and turn away.
