I just heard on the news about the UNICEF stating that in the coming years the world will lose it's capacity to control and negate terrorism as a whole.
Do you think that's true?

I don't think this is a problem of control or prevention. Instead I believe it's a matter of society and education. There must be a reason why the Middle East is breeding a lot of extremists and it's not Islam. Think about it. There are Muslims everywhere and yet the majority of the problems are originating from a single area. My assumption here is that extremism is created and not genetic. With that in mind, I believe it's something that's taught . I would even go as far as saying that the hatred most of these people have is also taught and not deeply rooted at all. I don't know where everyone comes from, but growing up I absorbed a lot of prejudice that I wouldn't have otherwise known.
There's still the problem of perpetuation though. The daesh will continue poisoning future generations. This needs to somehow stop. But in the grand scheme of things I believe terrorism can still be dealt with.
Also all boobs are good boobs. Except the super massive ones. There's definitely a point where it stops being attractive.

I agree with you on the most parts, but terrorism isn't just restricted to the Middle East, according to what I know. For example , there are several that operate in the philipines that haven't been robust and developing as quickly as the Islamic State. Sure there are less headlines about them, but that doesn't mean they're funding/propagating terrorism. Even here in Australia there are many self taught extremist that eventually move to the Middle East for further training. My point is that terrorism isn't just based in the Middle East, look at it like a hydra, with one head cut off, more will grow, and who knows, one might even be in your local shopping centre.
And with regards to teaching hatred, I think it is not them hating that's the issue, but more of them glorifying their own sacrifices.
and also I forgot to ask one more question, how do you think we should quell it? sure education does help, but will education win the final fight against guns and bombs without sacrifice?

Terrorism is everywhere. It will pop up every time someone finance them. There's little to nothing to do respect that aside taking each warning seriously. While it's technically possible to stop the "someone finance them" side, it's practically impossible because countries, companies, organizations or just a crazy rich will use them for their objectives if terror is needed.
What we can do, though, is to stop having a so irrational fear about it. Yeah, you, me, everyone can be a target, but you can be a target of a drunken driver, of a thunder, of a bacteria and so. You can't just live expecting you're out of danger of losing your life or getting severely injured. We can live with it because the chances of that happening are slim and minimal, and yeah, if we stop fearing so much things that shouldn't be feared, they will not gain any power of doing so anymore, destroying any reason to use fear in the first place.

That just happens and can't be prevented at all (it's impossible to eradicate evilness, extremism, hate and so). What we can also do, though, is to help to reduce those numbers a bit and that's done by stopping the hate sources like forced segregations by race/others and so because racism, because classicism, because beauty elitism, because transphobia, because extreme anti-communism/anti-capitalism (or any extreme political belief forbidding other points of view) and so.

I think it's ridiculous. When I heard about the attacks in Paris on the news, I was actually angry. I know this is wrong for me to say but, I can't help but blame Muslims. Whenever I hear something about ISIS or Boko Haram all I think about or say is, "Goddamned Muslims".
It's wrong and I know it is. Not all Muslims are to blame. The minority. However, I feel as though my angry thoughts about the entire situation will grow into outright hatred for Muslims as a whole.

I mean yes there will be sacrifices, but isn't that for everyone else? in my opinion terrorism can be minimized further with everyone's help. minimized to 0 I mean. Sure it's a risk that everyone is supposed to be exposed to, but what makes it equal to an accident? Number-wise you make sense, but humans don't like living on numbers alone. We all want to live don't we?

1. Reduce their killing power.
You can minimize the damage they do and the intensity of their anger. For example here (Chile) a crazy dude made a bomb himself and exploded it in a metro train a few days ago (in the name of frankly I don't recall, Nazism I think). The bomb was wrongly done, luckily, and it only moderately injured 3 persons near the explosion and the metro didn't suffered major infrastructure damages. Now make that crazy pal an USA citizen, where you can buy grenades like you buy eggs and powerful machine guns that doesn't ever exist here aside our army. 3 injured persons with a few time grenades? Or more likely a whole train banged.
For more developed countries, you don't have only the problem if it's banned or not on your country, because people have more money and they can travel to other countries with ease (and the borders/airports controls will never gonna be that good as we wish so, never). So they'll travel to other countries for the heavy weaponry. Though it's still better than have the heavy weaponry at home, not everyone will gonna travel, at least. Of course for countries with good ban codes like here or United Kingdom, you can minimize incidents by improving border/airports controls further, so less people can slip a RPG. Army corruption is also a thing that should be more covered by journalists and the town, as a lot of heavy weaponry slips comes from them, too.
2. Reduce their anger.
Rejecting to ever consider that our society is racist and similar things would be silly. I know, I lot of people isn't like that, but a lot of people is like that. If those who aren't like that does nothing and those who aren't like that does their thing with no big issues, guess what's the final balance for the people getting discriminated. Most people always seeks to be accepted by most their near society and not just few. That's the begin of segregation, where blacks lives with blacks on black neighborhoods, Peruvians on Chile lives on Peruvian neighborhoods, Muslims on Muslims neighborhoods on France and so.
Segregation often produce counter-racism, where they start to collectively hate everyone else. Sometimes with a reason, sometimes without a reason. It starts changing the mentality on some from "ours" for "my people and our enemies", like you can see in some anti-Muslims comments in this topic in the first place. They are also Frenches! Heck, they are not an enemy, they share the same species and the same planet!
Anger produces anger, and there's a point where someone can't hold back from their anger anymore and things like that happens. Yeah, they are doing their craziness because they are crazy and because they are fighting for what they believe, even if it's crazy. The thing is what is making them to so strongly believe they are like that, and believe that by killing even when it's forbidden (unless you're a messiahs) in your religion is obviously made by anger, and they use religion just as a facade to allow their rage to unleash.
Anyway, just frikking stop hating groups or anything and start seeing everyone as the same frikking species. Seriously, that makes wonders. Work around in a positive and productive way around beliefs, ideals and so rather than "WE SHOULD SMASH AND RETALIATE OUR ENEMIES LIKE THE WORMS THEY ARE!".
Oh, yeah, this apply to pretty much anything, anyway, like nerds with nerds.
3. Increase protection
Just don't sacrifice your rights in the process because that just swaps the power of some crazy pals for others. Never allow nobody to be too powerful because humans can be easily corrupted by power. Just fragment protection and make it everyone's job (in the degree of what is practical, of course). Just keep improving our current protection systems, including laws, police and so.

The recent terror attacks are tragic but childish and stupid, because attacking a country like France, UK, Russia, China or the U.S would only cause hatred to the religion that it's associated with and I know I shouldnt be saying that Muslim is evil but it's people who use Muslim belief to get people to follow them like ISIS and other terror cells along with stupid beliefs. The problem is that we can't stop a belief because we can't kill it, if we could we would have already stop these terrorist bastards from killing civilians and other innocent people who had no part in their attacks other then being victims

We should focus on transforming the armaments and create a proper establishment of social behaviour to lower the crisis of criminal terrorism. But because America's analogy of freedom prevents such things, and offers faith in the public: people with guns must fight people with guns in sudden attacks but it beats me to theorise how the aspects of society can change terrorism enough. Do american's defend their country with the freedom they are given to? No, it's always fucking idiots shooting each other with their arrogance because they are spoiled enough to do so. Seriously, work together and stop the drama.

@nyara do you think this is attainable? I mean what you've stated is pretty utopianistic thinking, with non stringent gun laws in the US, do you think your world might reach a reality? I'm not saying what you say is false, instead I'm saying it sounds too good to be true. I'm still a teenager right now, and eventually try to become some world changing force in the future. Ofc what you strive for will be what I strive for, but do you think it's possible?
On a side note in relation to your comment about stopping RPGs, I don't it's them bringing in firearms that cause terrorism, but them willing to sacrifice their lives, I.e. 9/11?

@kozwanderer I think everyone's judgement is viable, just whether it will sound outrageous to others or not. I think it is alright to believe that violence is actually holding us back. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I fully agree with you in that morals and emotions are what makes us human, but they are also the things holding us back as a species. With 'feelings' we fail to see the bigger picture sometimes, and that makes us very unproductive and wasteful. How would you go about, if you had a way, to let us cast away morals,beliefs,emotions for awhile and have a logical debate?

Hello everyone! This is my first post.
Regarding the problem with recent terror attacks, it could be observed as normal (casual) in a historical point of view. This assumption is based on several incidents with major political and historical influence. For example, the most known one would be the Cold War. The Cold War was an incident that tried to point out the best political standpoint between democracy and socialism. This incident caused a large quantity of deaths and injuries just to prove if democracy or socialism was the best.
There is no solution to terrorism or violent acts right now. The reason of why I am saying this is because terrorism and violent acts are usually motivated to change a viewpoint on a subject (equality, polytics, and forth), and if the are not satisfied with the changes there will be parties that would keep attacking people. This is fundamented in a youtube video (TestTube: Why terrorist group can't last forever).
Even if some party (like the government) prevents the use of weapons or increases the police force to enforce security, many groups will take it as an opression, because we are controlled by the idea that the government is the bad guy (cognitive bias). Also, there are many crime organizations around the world (gangs like in USA, drug/weapon dealers like in Latin America, terrorist groups, and forth), that make poblations insecure so removing weapons could cause a major panic in countries like the uSA.
This is a difficult topic to talk about, and cannot be explain entirely in a single post.
My solution to the problem would be to change all political and economical viewpoints, because there are many laws that are endangering the human population (agrarian reforms, money regulation, and forth), but that could cause insecurity to the people too. I am searching on the topic with a lots of viewpoints (social, political, economics, historical, and forth) and making a essay to post on a blog, but it seems impossible to make it simple (right now I made 25 pages with Times New Roman 12 and it is not complete), but if anyone is interested, I can post it when I am nearly done.

Terror attacks are bad, but I don't see them getting out of control or causing WW3. If we ever see a WW3 it will be because Russian/Ukraine incident or Israel/Mideast.

I am always surprised terrorism doesn't happen a lot more, it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult for a mentally ill person to blow something up, even with increased security.
