Please watch the videos.
So far I'm thinking that there are enough false flags to take out the videos, plus hearing the list of the Amazing Atheist's videos that got removed do give an insight on who it might have been. Even on Tumblr and Facebook, there is an amount of hate for him and it's all thanks to the anonymity of the internet along with the whole "I get freedom of speech, but you don't" stupid rule others do.
If it does continue, do you think that Youtube might actually start censoring and banning channels and might start spreading to other sites like Wikipedia?

Not as big a deal, but I know TVtropes has been censored. I went back recently to look for Rance's page and the only page related is AliceSoft's. I guess they removed a bunch if not all of the adult-related pages. This thing about YouTube is pretty strange though.

I follow T.J. as well and it is quite a strange thing indeed. Some of the videos he noticed were removed were about feminsm. I don't know why YouTube would ban that... These days it is common to be extra careful with Islamic content which is already an attack on free speech but feminism? I really hope those videos were deleted for other reasons. Ever since Google took over YouTube we have seen some crazy stuff like the constant change of channel layout to the worse but censorship? Pathetic...

Firstly, the government wants to make it a felony to upload content and even singing a copyrighted song in a video can land you some serious damage to your life. You all know how bad it is to have a felony on your record. Imagine having that because the administration saw fit to pass this section of the SOPA bill! Help stop this even bigger problem, guys!

Okay, now the thread topic. As I understand it, the first amendment is only about the government censoring your ideas and the ability to spread those ideas. It never really talked about corporations, and since this website is under Google's ownership then...well...Google has the right to do this kind of shit. It sucks but it's true.
Even if the first amendment did involve the actions of corporations as well and not just the acts of the government, well...

See, if you watched a handful of the Atheist's vids on religion you'll notice a trend. Dude's about as objective as Fox News (don't know if he got any better over the time I stopped caring but I doubt it). Just making a remark on the "ridiculousness" or "absurdity" of believing something is in itself attacking that belief by saying it's ridiculous to believe in it.
Yeah, it's not vulgar or violent and it'll really only hurt anybody who gives it the time of day and is weaker to such comments, but ultimately those kinds of remarks are not constitutionally protected.
I'm sure you can get a lawyer to help you out with this one, but the other side will only say the same thing. Even a mild slur or harsh comment can be considered slander, and just having one of those in a video can have the entire video pulled with impunity.
Anyway, if this becomes a trend then we can all either demand Google to explain its actions, or we can simply fuck off to a better website altogether. Like Dailymotion, where damn near nothing is censored. I mean really, the only reason we're on Tube is because everyone we watch is on it. If they moved, so would we.
But maybe they won't since most like that Tube ad money. But screw them.

Google has had quite the history of censoring - you cannot buy firearms via Google; they won't allow a Swedish word to be in the 'suggestions' thing; they censored websites that talked about Scientology; and plenty of other shenanigans.

A few specific words, if you try to type those few words in Google, it just treats the words as nothing.
You can use Google in Sweden/Swedish, just some specific words aren't in its search terms.

There's always Vimeo I guess. Dailymotion maybe? Too inconvenient? Well, shit.
The point is that there's a certain degree of tragic helplessness involving people advocating for one service provider to change their ways, and it contributes to this notion that no matter what, service providers will always have Freedom of Speech movements by the balls because they're too damn stupid/lazy/sensitive to change to perform an exodus.

I think people are thinking WAY too hard about it. If someone wants to change the world with 'serious stuff', I think it's stupid to do it on free videos site where people go there to laugh and look at cute kittens. You can create your own website or BETTER, do your stuff in real life, go into politics or Idontknowwhat.
The whole "atheist" part bugs me a lot, since atheism can hurt a lot of people belief in a way that, for me, is a good reason so this channel wasn't on the right track at all since the beginning.
