J-just don't go see Dr.Bumby.
Personally: I knew Dr.Bumby was crooked. I knew that he was a shady character and like a villain I really like from Persona 4, it was obvious he was up to something so I figured he was the main baddy from the start.
Besides, anybody who knows basic psychology would tell you he was DOING IT WRONG (which turned out to have a reason).
...But Persona 4's villain (first one, not the true one) never went THAT far.
Fucking Bumby the Shady turned out to be a pedophilic child-selling raping murderer! What he did to Alice's family was something I figured out, but WHY was something that left me slack jawed in awe. Especially what he did to Alice's sister.
Me:
I never expected the game to go so balls-out with it's villain and to dive so deep into a domain so horridly shocking. Bumby deserved to be done-in Brave Heart style, balls first. But I liked the ending they gave the game.
...Mostly.
What do you lot think about Bumby's end, and about the obviously interpretive ending of the game itself?
P.S. I really liked Alice, but now I fucking love this game for bringing me to a place that fits within the story but I never saw coming despite it being told to me throughout my playthrough in all the little details of the new, broken-down Wonderland.
_I don't like that the ending wasn't as happy as the first game, though. In fact, it could be taken as a startlingly sad ending. Without Bumby, Alice is alone again, but now it seems that she's stuck in a semi-delusion. Or maybe the environment, just like her change of attire, is a metaphor for how the world is now as whimsical as her Wonderland without Bumby living in it.
-Not to mention that she still has her Aunt (who was only half-bitchy from what I saw), and that unnamed sender of the family photograph. Unless that was Bumby. But then why would he give her something like that when he was trying to make her forget?
AAAARRRRGHH!!
It's either beautifully happy or depressingly grim.
Anyway, yeah, what do you guys think?
