I really can't believe there isn't a thread for this yet.
Alan Wake is a psychological thriller from Remedy.
Alan Wake is about a writer that travels to
Bright Falls for a vacation to try and cure his writers block.
Then some weird shit goes down. His wife, Alice, goes missing and Alan bursts into Rambo and starts domnating the supernatural. And the soundtrack kicks ass.
That's a more hardcore version of the summary. But I don't care.
I'd rather not say anything else really. It'll spoil the fun, creepy and paranormal parts of the game that make it what it's supposed to be.
I'm a good chunk into the game. And it's really, REALLY,
REALLY awesome.
Notice I used large font to express my opinion.
I'm not sure what I could compare it to, to show what the game is like.
It's the kind of game you want to play at night with the volume up(or in my case a Turtle Beach at max volume).
This is definitely worth a buy. Or at least a rent.
It's not a horror game. It's a thriller.
There's no gore, no intense violence and no giant evil bug creatures.
I know that may sound deturring from playing it, but I honestly think it makes the game better.
Too much gore in games drives from the plot and fear of it. Gets more into just rampant violent bullshit.
But enough of my thoughts.
What'cha guys think about it?
