"Codies have confirmed that codemasters.com was hacked last week and some cosumer information was comprimised.
The publisher sent out an email to users of the site today, warning of the breach. All the data on the Dirt 3 code redemption page, the E Store, and the Codies database has been accessed. That includes customer names, addresses, email addresses and passwords, as well as Xbox Live Gamertags and IP addresses. Payment info remains safe.
"Whilst we do not have confirmation that any of this data was downloaded onto an external device," said the email, "we have to assume that, as access was gained, all of these details were compromised and/or stolen."
Codemasters has said that it shut the site down immediately upon realising the issue. They're working on a whole new site, but are planning on redirecting users to the Codies Facebook page until then."
