C's ware Period
After graduation from university, he worked in Himeyasoft (which the C's ware brand was a part of)
Programmer of Kindan no Ketsuzoku『ç¦æ–ã®è¡€æ—〠on PC-9801 [the first C's ware game and first in the series, the second one being 『GLO・RI・A ç¦æ–ã®è¡€æ—ã€which you might have heard of]. Because he never did game programming before, he went through lotsa trial and error as he worked on this game.
For 『悦楽ã®å¦åœ’ã€(you might know it as Love Potion), he took care of both programming and scenario. The process took about 2 months, and he was satisfied with being able to make a game within a short period of time. However, after the game's release, he found out on bbs that the game got suckier ratings than he had expected, and thus was . He noted how his hard work did not lead to good reviews (essentially, consumers don't really know/care how much effort was put into the game. their only concern is if the game is good). While he initially blamed the bad results on the limitations he had developing the game, Kenno put in much thought on how to make interesting games within a short timespan upon his newfound on lol consumer psychology. From then on, he basically took over programming, scenario, planning, game design by all by himself (for C'sWare).
Thus 『DESIREã€was born. Its moving scenario and "multi-sight-system???" were highly praised. This became one of his famous works(as in his name was tagged along with the game, making him more well-known as its creator.). In the following year, 『EVE burst errorã€, using the same "multi-sight-system???", became a runaway hit. Kanno's level of fame rose even higher.
He then went to elf. In 1997, DESIRE and EVE were ported to Sega Saturn by the people at C's ware. However, Kanno's name was not included in the staff roll.

elf Period
After quitting Himeyasoft, he worked at elf. He had about 8 months of time at elf to develop a game compared to the 2-4 months at C's ware. Furthermore, he did not need to serve as the programmer here. Hence, he was able to concentrate more on game design and scenario when producing "Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo YU-NO"『ã“ã®ä¸–ã®æžœã¦ã§æ‹ã‚’唄ã†å°‘女YU-NOã€(for PC9801, on sale 1996).
He did not want to reuse the proven "multi-sight-system" and tried to devise another way to present a game. Being a fan of 'Wizardry', he took the dungeon mapping in RPGs as a hint to develop the 「A.D.M.S.(Auto Diverge Mapping System)ã€, which was one of the major reasons of YU-NO 's success.
Kenno had originally planned for a prologue with a "present-world" chapter and then the "alternate-world" chapter as the main story for YU-NO. But, due to time constraints(ç•¥. For this reason, Kanno had originally thought that YU-NO wouldnt be successful. However, YU-NO still managed to win rave reviews for its story and game system. 『DESIREã€ã€ŽEVEã€ã€ŽYU-NOã€. As a result of these 3 of his works, Kanno's reputation was unshakable.
After the Sega Saturn version of YU-NO was completed, he retired from elf.

Abel Period
