Ei everyone, I created this forum to share news about Canvas 2 DVD version in order for people to share information about the game and the translation project for it.
I've been following this link for the translation http://www.tsukuru.info/tlwiki/index.php?title=Canvas2DVD but I don't know much besides this, I do hope it's finished soon.
Another thing, recently I downloaded the game (still in japanese) at http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76069 but I couldn't install because it required the disk and stuff, even though someone posted a nodisk in the site foruns, it still wouldn't run (even if I don't understand japanese, I was hoping to use at least the save files).
Anyway please share any piece of knowledge about the game and translation, after all I've been 3 years waiting to get my hands on the game and I just love Elis and everyone.

I know this is a very dead thread, but I felt like talking about Canvas.
I've finished all routes except for Sumire and Tomoko so far, but I've already felt varying degrees of emotion.
Seriously, what parent is not concerned about who their daughter is having sex with? In most of the VNs I've played so far there is an apparent lack of parents. It appears that all characters live alone, separated from his/her parent, or just conveniently, their parents don't care and never show up.
I highly admire Mami's route because of the parental involvement aspect, even if it was only a small amount. Hiroki actively interacted with Mami's parents. Even though they didn't have sprites or CGs, and bits of the interaction seemed awkward, I was drawn to the fact that Mami's parents had dialog and actually discussed, though in a joking manner, Mami's life with Hiroki.
I greatly disliked Elis' route. Elis just seemed extremely superficial and annoying to me. I really don't have any more reasons. I just don't like her.
I also apologize if some of what I've written doesn't make much sense... It's 2:30 in the morning where I am right now.

I was reminded of this game today.
Out of the maybe 4-5 VNs I've played, Canvas 2 had the deepest impressions since Tomoko's route really amazed me. I think I also finished Elis' and Kana's routes and never got around to the other girls.

so far I've done Kiri and Mami's routes and working on Tomoko. Kiri felt the most natural but they all seem to take so long to develop. Mami's made sense though, after she graduated and finally realizing she love him. Ellis is annoying though, at first I didn't mind her then she's all up in everyone's routes interfering. I dislike Kana typical hyper loli and Sumire just doesn't seem interesting. I'll go with Tomoko and Saya and the rest if I feel like it. I still don't see how he's so forgiving with Yanagi either.

It's been a while since I created this thread but a few month ago I was finnaly able to play the game fully translated, gotta give credit to Edger who is my hero in translating both the game AND the manga.
As for the routes, for me Mami was the best by far in terms of both commedy and romance, their interection just felt so natural and true, but I also enjoyed tomoko a lot due to her attitude changing as the game goes. As for Ellis, I kinda like her a lot actually (maybe due to her personality in the manga which is FAR superior than in the anime) and also because she actually is true to her feelings and I actually understand the pain of having someone we deeply love for a very long time being slowly taken away by someone else that just buts in and starts taking our place...
Anyway I greatly enjoyed the game, it was certainly one if not the best most romantic VN I ever played and once again, thankfull to both the creators and Edger, the translator. I higly recommend this game to those who search for more romance than just plain sex in an erogue.
