Entropia Universe,designed by MindArk and release in 2003 is a virtual MMO universe, allows for the player to enjoy an extremely realistic simulation of future life. It's main features include its Virtual Currency, PED, which can be converted into real currency or fund some the various applications in the game such as starcrafts,boats,planes,cars. and various character accessories and it's four planets which range in sizes of 100-175 square miles.Although having a small community of about 50-60000 users on at any time, Entropia allows for diverse bonds to be made with groups ranging from scavenger parties to mining guilds and has a in place mentoring system for new users to gain footing in their planet. One noticeable value of the game must be called to mention however, it's steep learning curve.While entropia does allow for endless possibilities and is completely free, FTP players can expect a extremely steep learning curve unpresidented amongst other MMOs, and it is nearly impossible to reach the top socialite levels of the online society without money deposits.However,as the communit often bonds together, with some work FTP players can become very very successful, owning asteroids,houses,buildings,cities, and personal vehicles.All in all, entropia universe is a new frontier of games, constantly evolving around its participants
Hey guys just wanted to put this up as I'll be returning to EU after a year long break.My experience before my absence was extremely fun and fruitful as I made about 2PED a day with some other friends mining in a corporation in a desert on planet calypso which allowed me to purchase a set of reliable armor and civilian wear and a small motorbike with fuel for daily travels.If there is any chance anyone would be interested in playing please drop me a pm as after my absence I assume none of my old friends remain except for one or two and as such I would out of equipment and or source of income without a workable group or partner.As I have heard nowadays planet calypso is most commercialized and has some methods of transportation with the teleporters and a large community that helps with the newbie population but if you were looking for adventure(an EXTREMELY hard one at that with nearly no chance of survival let alone success) I would suggest rocktopia but for the most part I hope you decide upon calypso as not only can I not afford the 40 PED to take a space barge to calypso but its probably the best starting place
