Well i played through UBW arc and that made me think. Was it really worth it to sacrifice so much for others? Shirou had to endure sufferings for so long but not only was he betrayed by his comrades but he was betrayed even by his own ideals. It just makes me think was it really worth it to live and die by your ideals? Even though you can't even seek salvation?
True heroes never cared about what they do but they cared about what did they stand for. If he became hero to protect people than hero shouldn't care about what others think of him.
how about we look at it from the no-morals point of view: your ideals are the most valuable thing you have. sell them only at the right time and the right price.
but yeah, the costs of being a hero are really high, and usually at least as high as your ideals are set.
