First off I'd just like to say how amazing this game looks. I had been waiting on Huxley and then they dropped the "Oh did we say 100v100? We meant 100 people per. server with 8v8. Hope your not to bummed" bullshit.
As it stands MAG looks like PlanetSide meets BF2142 which are the only two FPSs I got into tourties with so I in no way am wagging my finger at this. I was sceptical at first but after the E3 gameplay I'm not worried about lag and shit.
How do you think MAG will turn out? I can imagine how annoying it'd be getting grouped up with a bunch of ten year olds and shit but besides the actual players I can't see how this game can fail (Though the players are gonna make this game entirely xD)
Well, I like that fact that,if you die, your dead until reinforcement (until XX achievement are accomplished). People will less likely be rambo-ing, mindlessly playing the game. The maps look huge for the amount of players. Hopefully its not like Battlefield:BC, imo I thought that MP was boring, running then dying then more running. often causing people to run in 1 by 1 to they're death. Hopefully people are more cooperative with playing with your squad, following orders making this enjoyable. We'll see how the beta goes,i'll try to get in on that one.
I have some friends looking forward to this, and I'll be getting it as well. Honestly, I'm really looking forward to large scale battle grounds, and I love having a command structure.
The main thing I'm worried about is if people actually follow orders. Hopefully there will be something in place to encourage playing the way it's meant to be played.
I don't find an FPS all that interesting cause they all become too much of the same, same after some time playing them. I like my Resistance, Gears of War, Halo, and Half Life, but I just don't replay them after one time and going online with my 360 sucked with a flood of children (annoying). I'd rather leave a game then argue with them since they ain't in front of me. The only shooter I re-play and go online with is MGO. It has both 1st person and 3rd person action that I like and the community is less teabaging and less whinning. Well since I'm here maybe I will be able to join guys from the forum and will make it enjoyable.
The game is made by Zipper, the kings of the tactical shooter genre. There's no doubt in my mind that this will be much more of a slow paced tactical team based game than your typical noobfest that nearly all of today's shooters have turned out to be.
I'm very please with the beta right now. Its not a run & gun CoD type of game. It keeps the tactic of Socom games but in FPS. I've played a few match and i'm liking the game. Using cover is the shit.
