I just watched the Press Conference of Nintendo at the E3.
And I came billion times.. [sorry Fakku. You have still failed to accomplish that within an hour]
I simply love Nintendo and with the Wii U nobody can deny anymore..
Is there anyone actually who still thinks another console is better than the upcoming Wii U?
While I do like the idea of this new console, remember the fact that Nintendo is only doing this due to the fatal flaw of Wii, the games. Although I am glad that they are fixing some of the problems like graphics, remember that it's usually the games on the system that will make or break it. here's what I think
Pros: Better graphics
Touch screen Controller [Cool Feature I do have to say]
It's a new system with new features, always a plus.
Will have games like Tekken and Battlefield 3
Will have new games like Zelda, Mario, Hopefully metroid, etc. the works
Minus: Will lack majority of the mainstream games like Call of Duty as stated
[wants to reach out to traditional gamers as well as casual players who
aren't all that into franchises like Call of Duty]
Controller does not look like it can play games that require movement [Main
selling point of Wii]
Knowing Nintendo, Price with be much too high with hype
The Fatal Flaw of Nintendo, the games; they lack a strong franchise like
Halo, Gears, Killzone, etc., and have too many 3rd party games that seem
like overpriced apps that suck.
Hopes[Means what I want to see on the Wii U]:
Better Memory capacity of at least 120 GB, a standard for Xbox 360 and PS3
Has a HDMI port, or at least comes with component cords to allow for the
better graphics
Hoping they can get Franchises that will keep people coming back.
Stop making too many remakes of games and start something new
Wii Shops will come with better games and less 3rd party developers who
can't seem to make a decent one.
Internet Browser that actually is decent [can play videos, faster loading
times, more connectivity]
The Wii U has to be backwards compatible [Can play Wii games and use the
Wii-Remote, Nunchuks etc.
Should be able to play DVDS, music, videos, etc. [Standard on Consoles]
Should improve the online experience drastically [Online on Wii is shit]
Adds like a achievement/trophy system like Xbox and PS3.
So yeah, this is what I think of it, but I think I won't buy it until prices have decreased by at least 50 dollars of initial price, have some of the better games, and is a bundle. Also, remember that Microsoft and Sony don't even have to improve upon the system to compete with Nintendo for at least another year, so who knows what they can produce. So honestly, I think this is more of a hype and that it's an innovation for consoles, but will Nintendo make good use of this innovation?
