I know it's old news, but there doesn't seem to have been a thread for it...and in fairness, it isn't out yet. :P
The Pandora is an awesome looking, open source handheld. It's essentially been developed by old GP2X (the benchmark open source handhelds) community members, to fix their flaws - it runs a Linux variant, can emulate (almost) everything up to the Dreamcast, and has a proper keyboard, an epic 800x480 res on a 4.3" touchscreen, dual analogues, SDHC slots, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, USB and a 10-hour battery life for video/apps, with maybe even 100 hours for music.
Now, assuming this ever sees the light of day - it clearly exists (the videos below are seriously impressive) and is slated for the 3rd quarter of this year, but production has been delayed repeatedly - would you buy one? I would have to say, particularly for portable N64 and PS1 games (the potential for multiplayer is just mindblowing), that my answer would be yes...but then who knows what will be on the market by that point; also, having a touchscreen up top, with the device so similar in form and size to the DS, will feel weird at the very least. I suppose there is also an issue of trusting these guys with quite a bit of money, but one suspects they'll be under a lot of scrutiny by tech websites etc. Also, with dev kits out there and a lot of software ready even now, there'll be a lot to do on the PC front too, as if a proper browser, messenger and media players weren't cool enough.
