Can't wait for the low sales and terrible reception the company's going to have, Shattered memories got it right but this is inexcusable. We can't really say whether or not this is a "good" game, but we can agree that this is
not a silent hill game
What the hell happened to the Shattered Memories guys, anyway? Didn't they make Downpour? That game really pissed me off because of how much potential it clearly had, but it was buggy as shit and by the end you really got the feeling they stopped caring about the gameplay when you were forced to fight through a
gauntlet of enemies on an elevator.
...Ugh...
Also, to paraphrase a commenter on that vid I linked: Considering this is a multiplayer game with a view akin to an arcade title and the point of Silent Hill is to be
alone and
creepy, we can safely say this game has already failed as a game right from the get-go.
_Even before it was funded, the second the words "Silent Hill" and "multiplayer" were uttered in the same seriously spoken proposal, the game already sucked.
There's no reason to even give this a chance at arm's length. It's like saying, "Hey, we're going to make a Devil May Cry game for the PSVita, but it'll be multiplayer and look like a shitty arcade game for some back-end of a Pachinko parlor. Oh, but don't worry, because it will have enemies from every other DMC title...and maybe even an appearance of a certain enemy that's been run into the ground by creatively bankrupt folks! *tee-hee*"
Agreed, though. Shattered Memories was, despite it's minor flaws, very fucking good. I too cannot wait for the day Konami says, "Oh shit! We just poured money into a game that NO ONE wants to buy!"
