Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a remake of the original Silent Hill (PS1) game for PS2, Wii, and PSP. It has vastly upgraded graphics, slightly altered story that allows us to make story altering decisions. It has also taken more of an action turn, but not in the way that Resident Evil and Dead Space did. It is fast paced, by they are trying to lay on both the survival and the horror aspects much more heavily than any of it's predecessors.
Who is going to be picking up this game? I know I am.
It's not an remake but an reimagining of the first game, and from what i saw in the gameplay videos it shares some similarites, but other than that it i couldn't tell that it was supposed to be based of the first Silent Hill.
It seems to be alot better than Homecomming, which i found pretty boring tbh, and the fact that you move your flashlight with the wiimote is awesome.
Well, it's not exactly a remake. It's supposed to go back through Harry's memories of what happened. For the game play I haven't found TOO much solid info, but it seems they're trying to go for a psychological horror, and not the classic "OH SHIT HURRY UP AND RELOAD!" horror.
Why'd they change the character's look. Developed by Climax Studios located on the south coast of England. Oh no, it's not japanese made! I'm already put off since Silent Hill 5 (developed by an American studio) missed the point of what makes Silent Hill so great. The player character should be overwhelmed by the town itself and not be an ex-soldier who has all the tools and almost unlimited ammo to carve a path through the town' not to mention the subtle sociological effects the town and monsters manifests itself to each character in the story.
I don’t expect much, but I’ll keep my eye on this game.
Guess which was my favorite Silent Hill. Hint, look at my avatar.
