This might as well be the only forum ever dedicated to a game that no one has ever heard of called Space Station 13.

That basically sums what the game is. It is a mostly text based game with very archaic 1970's graphics and a rather difficult learning for any new player. Your basically assigned onto a space station and your main goal is try and last as long as possible. The game takes difficulty in the form controlled (and even sometimes uncontrolled) disasters and catastrophe. You may be hit with a electrical space storm that ahhilates power to parts of the station or you might be overun with a Xenomorph infestation that spreads in a matter of minutes.
One of the more popular game modes (One of many mind you) is called traitor. A person is chosen at random at the start of the game and he must carry out a secret objective he must not let anyone know about. Whether its to steal the Head of Personal's jumpsuit, hack the comm's in a certain part of the station, or just outright KILL the captain of the station. Anyone on the station could be the traitor and so no matter what game, you'll never know just quite who to trust.
There are A LOT more game styles but the hard part about the game is the 'hand/open hand' mechanic of the game. Its fairly simple really but complex as hell at first to understand. Basically, when you have something in your hand and depending on where, what, and who your clicking it on, you may produce WIDLY different result. Lets say you have a crowbar in your hand and your standing next to a locker. If you click on the locker with the crowbar in hand, you will attempt to foribly pry. If you click on the already open locker with the crowbar you will put said tool in the locker. And by clicking on the locker with nothing in it you can close it and click on it another time to lock it. This system gives players virtually the ability to do WHATEVER they want to do. From hacking doors, tearing down walls, to eventually building robots and mechs, and preventing or causing station wide panic.
Now I'm writing so much about this game because even though its a complex and a PURE role playing game at its heart. Its the extreme unpredictability of every single round that keeps drawing me back in for more hours. You might be the captain who oversees all operations, you might be the engineer who sets up the engine and maintains power, you may be the scientist who helps heal people and creates new technology, or you might just even be the one of many antagonist of the game sent out do whatever your mission is that round. But I run on if ANYONE is even remotley interested into what any of this means or if your just looking for a pure roleplaying game with loads of new learning and challenge just message me for more details and if you want to figure it out for yourself.
