Since it's not fresh in my mind, I'll make this quick:
As a stealth game, it's decent. The "press button to win" system is trash (as well as the ability to mark people), the Assault playstyle is designed to make CoD kiddies feel like they're playing properly, anything below "realistic" is casual mode, and the detection meter is annoying. While Ubi Toronto made many compromises, they managed to maintain the essence of Splinter Cell. The level design is impressive and allows for multiple approaches, the social interactions between missions were appreciated, and most importantly, the thing plays like a proper SC game (assuming you don't exploit tagging and know how to stealth). Like I said, it's decent; 6/10. The game, as well as its story, are nothing special. Chaos Theory remains the best in the series.
On a related note, does anyone know a youtuber called DSP, or DarkSydePhil? He made an LP of Blacklist where he acted like his usual self, so in the spirit of all the other montage videos that have been made about him, I made a 2 hour "
This is how you DON'T play Splinter Cell: Blacklist" montage, ridiculing the fuck out of the guy. If you'd like to get a taste of why people shit on him, watch the intro.
