S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

GSC Game World announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 today, which they are touting as the franchise's next chapter. It will feature a "completely new multi-platform technology" developed by GSC.

"After the official sales of the series exceeded 4 million copies worldwide, we had no doubts left to start creating a new big game in the STALKER universe," said CEO Sergiy Grygorovych. "This will be the next chapter of the mega-popular game players expect from us.

The most recent S.T.A.L.K.E.R. title is Call of Pripyat, which was released in February. While Clear Sky was a prequel, Call of Pripyat picked up where the first game left off.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is scheduled to be released in 2012.

At least GSC clarified they won't be dumbing it down :)

That's what Crytek said about Crysis 2. Hopefully it'll be a system breaker so I have an excuse to upgrade :P

From the videos though, it was obvious they Crytek simplified Crysis 2 (like, the combining suit functions).

But GSC hasn't released any videos, so we can hope.

I am really looking forward to this. I have all the three former games and i loved them. Not Clear Sky so much because the ending got bugged for me.
